Generate Labor Overview
Use this module to generate information about the labor required of your employees. This module uses data from the Business Forecaster module. The labor generation process creates labor demand or standard hours for all four criteria types—Actual, Forecast, Edit, and Budget—using the criteria values entered through Business Forecaster.
You can generate labor for one or all sites, one or all departments, and one or all positions for a specified date range. The labor generation engine uses the Month-Day Start, Month-Day End, Start Time, End Time, and Days of Week for each labor standard linked to the selected site, department, and position to determine that labor demand records need to be generated.
The standard hours generated on the Generate Labor page are used in labor reports where they can be compared against hours worked.
You have access to the Generate Labor module if your organization is using the optional labor management capabilities of TimeSaver.
The results of your labor generation requests are stored in the TimeSaver database for use in other modules of TimeSaver. The labor generation data is retrieved when you generate labor analysis reports in the Reporting module and when you use Labor Standards for Scheduling.
Your security rights determine the information you can view, add, edit, and delete in TimeSaver. For an overview of security information, see Security Overview.
TimeSaver uses three labor levels and provides flexibility for naming the labor levels. Throughout TimeSaver documentation you will see the default names for the levels: Site, Department and Position. If you see a different name on your TimeSaver web page, it is because your organization is using the flexible labelling feature. For more information, see Labels for Labor Levels.
