Employee Import Overview

Use the Employee Import module to update the TimeSaver database with personal and payroll-related information for employees. This information is often imported from Human Resources systems or other applications.

Employee information must be available in the TimeSaver database before employees can start entering time and labor transactions, except for Not Validated Time Entry employees.

Before you can run an employee import, a source file from your Human Resources or payroll system must be available, and its filename and path location should match what is defined in the import configuration.

Your security rights determine the information you can view, add, update, and delete in TimeSaver. For an overview of security information, see Security Overview.

Accessing the Module

Starting from the TimeSaver home page, make the following selections:

Viewing the Status of the Employee Import Request

After running the import, you can check the status by going to the Request List area on the home page. From the Request List area, open the Import/Export Status folder, and then open the Employee Import Requests folder. The Employee Import Requests folder opens and displays the requests along with the date, time, status, and message for each request. Locate the requests you want to view, and review the status displayed in the Status column. For descriptions of the status icons, see Request List Menu Options.
