Benefit Import Overview
Use this module to import employee benefit balances and adjustments to benefit balances, which you often import from Human Resources systems or other applications.
If the Stop Accruing when Total Accrual Balance is Equal to the Maximum Accrual Hours feature is turned on in System or Site Setup, and the employee has accrued the maximum benefit hours for the benefit time period, the employee’s balance will not change upon import.
If you are calculating accruals with Nextrak, a third-party application, this link is not available on your home page.
Before you can run a benefit import, a source file from your Human Resources or payroll systems must be available and its filename and path location must match what is defined in the import configuration.
Your security rights determine the information you can view, add, edit, and delete in TimeSaver. For an overview of security information, see Security Overview.
Accessing the Page
Starting from the TimeSaver home page, make the following selections:
Import/Export area ~ Benefit Import link
Downloading and Checking Import Data
After running the import, you can check the status by going to the Request List area on the home page. From the Request List area, open the Import/Export Status folder, and then open the Benefit Import Requests folder. The Benefit Import Requests folder opens and displays the requests along with the date, time, status, and message for each request. Locate the requests you want to view, and review the status displayed in the Status column.
When the request displays a status of completed successfully, you can click the Processing Complete message link to download the Zip file from the Benefit Import Requests folder. The Zip filename contains the date and time the request was processed. It looks similar to this example:
20060829083016_BenefitImport.zip.
Manual Import File Format and Content
Inside the Zip file are these individual files:
<userid>yyyymmddhhnnss_actionlog.log
<userid>yyyymmddhhnnss_changelog.log
<userid>yyyymmddhhnnss_rejectlog.log
<userid>yyyymmddhhnnss_benefitimport.log
Open and review the log files to verify that expected changes occurred and to identify problems with the imported data.
If the import files indicate some benefit data was rejected during the import, please contact your corporate payroll administrator or HR resource who can partner with the ADP TimeSaver Support Center for help in reconciling and re-importing the data.
Automated Import File Format and Content
The content inside the Zip file for an automated benefit import is the same as for a manual import except that each filename begins with the word “automated” and the user ID is not included.
